For you will go out with joy And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

So remember me as I truly was, like the picture in the grasp of the old carved frame my father made, or the golden locket clasp.
An old tape of an afternoon of singing in Nebraska, we wrote a hundred songs but never bothered cutting records.

I don't care what you say, yr gunna be my valentine.
it'll be all fireworks, and electricity, tigers, tape players, glitter and construction paper, the great fiction novels of our time, the last of the monarch butterflies,

you won't have seen nothin' like it!

| Let me know, babe, about my fortune |

I made a bet we'd never met, you grabbed me by the paw. And pointed, smile flickerin' all candled-like with the answers that you saw. You said I was a panda, you could still see most of my spots. You said I'd be a river, and that you'd untie all my knots. A campfire heart, Oak tree ringed eyes. We could go watch the sun rise in China sometime. Dylan would be playing on the radio and we'd eat branches for breakfest.

'member that time in grade two when you were too scared to climb that tree in the park, but I just kept climbing, and climbing, and climbing; so you had to follow. you were so mad, ha, 'til you got to the top branch where I was sitting. you stood up tall and started looking out somewhere west like you were tryin' to see if it had an end, with yr right hand blocking the sun outta yr eyes and yr left holding tight on my shoulder. you could probably almost see the whole town from where we were, and you just lit up. like a sparkler. we were watching the birds and it was almost summer cause I could start to see yr freckles and we were singing whatever song it was that we loved at the time. and I asked you how I got you to come so high up and you said you didn't want me to die on my birthday.
I am not young enough to know everything but just so you know, if I ever die, it'll be okay.
after all, wherever you go. there you are.

you'd think after twenty years, I'd be ready to get a little realistic.
